Valentine's Day approacheth, I hope everyone has been cuffed appropriately and on their best behavior (I sure haven't, but I'm married it doesn't matter). This week on the blog I am giving 3 looks any babe can pull off for date night.
Ahem *clears throat
That girl is a real crowd pleaser Small world, all her friends know me (know meeeeeee) aaaannnnnd stop. That's all I know. Seriously and I had to look that part up for verification purposes. I have been style inspired all week by some of my fave bloggers ,and today is no different. So let's travel across the pond, shall we? We shall. I have been feeling blue all week--literally feeling the color blue! I think I will really be adding all the hues of blue in heavy rotation this Fall and Winter. From my pastel Blue Embroidered Moto Jacket , to the Navy Floral Embroidered look from Wednesday, and today's Baby blue-hued Jumpsuit I have be showing my appreciation for this color all week. I have been feeling nostalgic about my good ol' college days and doing research papers (is that weird? lol), so I decided to do a little research on the color blue. According to www.colormatters.com blue is the #1 favorite color of all people worldwide. While it doesn't specify the most popular shade, based on the significance of the color I can see why it is reigning color king. Dark blue signifies authority, intelligence, and trust which is why the dark blue suit is such a common occurrence in the business world. Light blue (in reverence to sky blue) holds a more spiritual other realm-ness. It is used to represent traquility, peace, and serenity-- all feelings that are reflected when just sky or cloud watching. Over time the complexities of the color meaning have shifted its meaning from that of serenity and power to feelings of sadness. This can be attributed to the American culture and specifically the musical genre , the 'Blues".Up, down, high or low, regardless of how it makes you feel blue stands on its on as a power tone.Let's get into the look shall we.....
Happy Labor day!! It's Monday and I do not have to call out today! lol Orange you glad you are off today? I am! I am jumping for joy while enjoying my Orange Delight Jumpsuit.I don't own a lot of orange, but I am quickly gonna make a change. With Fall fast approaching, Orange will really be the new black.Pumpkins, cider, turning leaves, crisp morning and jackets out the whazoo are what the Autmumn seanson is all about. It's still warm so I am gonna enjoy the last days of Summer. This jumpsuit is the perfect transitioning piece. It's color composition moves seamlessly from seasons. For the cooler days, throw a nice jacket on top and you are good to go! I am wearing a size small.I look pretty lean and long in this jumpsuit, but it's maily because of the way it is made.It is composed of a spandex infused material and is lined with shorts to avoid colorful panty snafoos. The belt is also included and can be worn separately as well. Currently on sale at Incantareboutique.com for less that $40, make you don't miss this great piece! I know, I know I have been collaborating a lot with them lately; however when I like a company or brand I want to share it with the world. All the pieces they sell are made very well ,almost tailored to fit, the prices are great , and their pieces are far from average! Don't believe me? Check out their site www.incantareboutique.com .They are also having a great Labor Day sale you don't want to miss. I have been blessed with big eyes not only for beauty, but for spotting deals. My Louis Vuitton Speedy is my greatest find to date.I was in a local thrift store , minding my business and being a child of God, when I spotted this beauty in the display window with a tag that read 'fake'.I immiately noticed the darkened(patina) ,what seemed like the signature Vachetta leather and picked it up quickly, before anyone caught on.I quickly looked inside for a date code, sadly there was not one *cries in Louis Vuitton. There was however a tag inside that read 'Manufactured in the U.S.A. under special license to the French Co.'.I quickly turned to the smartest one I knew, Google. I found a few verification websites that validated the tag. Date codes were not always used. They were introduced widely in the late 90's to combat the growing industry of knockoffs. Also between the late 70's through the 90's Louis Vuitton allowed many of their bags to be manufactured in the U.S. So in fact, the speedy I had was not fake. The bag had a $15 price tag! I paid for that bag and ran out so fast before they had a chance to realize what happened. So yes, I got a vintage Louis Vuitton Speedy for $15.It pays to do your research ladies and gents. I love olive as well as summer country nights so I meshed the to together for this fashion fete. I kept the khaki theme strong by pairing my jumpsuit with my barely there strappy sandals from Missguided.I got them last year as well (I know, boo! ), so these are sold out.You can shop a similar look here for $24.00.They also have free shipping for a limited time so don't miss out.
