Sorry guys, I know I am only posting once this week, but I have really good reason.I’m tired, bih. When I get home I eat , Netflix and chill with my daughter only to fall asleep and wake up at like 1am wondering what century I am in.The past weekend I decided to only shoot one look so I could enjoy my family all day.We all did an activity we needed or something we have been wanting to do.My husband got a much needed acupressure massage, I got a spa pedicure (never had one btw, I’m hooked), and my daughter got to go on a super cool mini train ride and meet her new fave person, Moana.I could not even convince her that it was just an impersonator *sighs in parental.

I have a penchant for shoes, can you tell? I am trying to understand where this obsession has come from, but I don't have that kind of time on my hands right now.Just know shoes are important to me, ok? lol
Who likes Twizzlers? Anybody? Well I sure don't.They are gross--bland even.I will have no parts of that.So why did I name this post Liquorice then? Well, because the dress looks like Twizzler.Doesn't it? Please say it does...
Are you tired of me yet? No?! Good.I'm going to try to stay festive the rest of the year with fun holiday inspired looks.
I have been a repeat offender lately. So in the spirit of the repeat I am slaying the shoulder game once again! My black and white bandage off the shoulder top (Shein, $10..old) perfectly complimented my khaki culottes (Romwe, old).I wanted to go with a Safari type theme so I laced up my snakeskin Zara pumps (old) and grabbed my backpack purse from Shein ($20) to add a pop of color. I kept my accessories simple by pairing my statement necklace from Chanel styles ($10) with some old wooden bangles. We all know I love I good ol' statement piece. This is really where my straw pom pom hat (BCBG, $38..old) came into play. Not only does it coordinate color-wise with my top and pants, but it is also such a fun eye-catching piece that really seals this look. Today you are all in for a special treat. I have collaborated with some other fantastic bloggers from around the world and they are also baring shoulders. Take a look below on how they all rock the off the shoulder trend: Ig names from top left to right: @stylebykaka , @kaiye_marie , @thebeningirl
second row: @styles_by_tsc, @styled_into_fashion , @dafsstyles last row: @cam_withlove TWell look at that, Monday is upon us once again! I hope you all liked my last post about my #DIYD Aquazurra inspired pom pom sandals.I tried to make it as easy as possible. Black is such a wonderful color which is why I did these in black. Black is just everything; elegance ,neutrality, formal, casual...like I said Everything!! I was so excited to put together a look for my latest creations. I opted for a fun yet sultry date night ensemble with somewhat regal influence. My #DIYD convertible wrap top was giving me all kinds of goddess inspiration , and the black well you know black is just everything. I styled it one shoulder style to bring some sexy back a al Justin Timberlake. The chiffon pleated culottes (Shein.com $8) incorporate both trend and a flowy silhouette, perfect for a night out. To play up on my golden brown skin, I went with gold accessories. I love flash tattoos (too chicken for a real one, don't judge me...or do...I'm notorious punk) so a stuck a few on my shoulder, arm and collarbone. My gold plated belt (Gojane, $7) was a nice touch to compliment my tribal inspired earrings (Romwe.com $3.80) and my gold cuff that I so savagely took from my mom's stash #iaintsorry. My weave patterned clutch (H&M, $5) which resembles a raffia palm in texture provided extra hints and chic yet summer vibes. This bag can easily transition from a day to night clutch as well. This post is coming to you courtesy of the fab stylings of Black Russian Label. Located in Arizona, this couture label is lit!! Word of caution : this is not your everyday style! From funky prints to asymmetrical cuts they are serving fierce. Olive (I love) a good challenge and a great fun piece so this styling their Parisian Nights dress was a dream. When I shot this look it was still a bit chilly so I layered a white button down underneath. For a touch of mod , I stepped into my black Public Desire Perspex boots ($50).Accessories were kept minimal, but that was because they were bold, like me.My gold , which I stole from my mom complimented my wonderful rope statement necklace courtesy of Chanelsyles.com .I have been in a hat mood lately so my straw pom pom hat from BCBG.com last year on sale for $32(sold out). That is the most I ever spent on a hat.I am a cheapskate, by trade yet I do not regret this purchase. When I tell you I love this dress, I mean I Loooove this dress!! This is no ordinary fly by night brand. Their pieces are made with quality materials as tailoring. Did I mention this dress has pockets!!! Pockets just make everything better, whether for use or aesthetics pockets on a dress is always top on my list.If you are a lover of risqué fashion head over to www.blackrussianlabel.com and check out all they have to offer! I know I hadn't posted in a while , I was sooooo overwhelmed with shooting so many looks and enjoying my birthday (4/15) that I just didn't have time.I also had to register my sweet 5 year- old baby for Kindergarten today *insert tsunami of tears. So let's just say I had a lot of adulating going on.If adulting doesn't consume me again I'll be posting again Friday.Stay fab! Spring is fast approaching and let me tell you that "Immmm Ready!" *SpongeBob voice. If you live here in NC you will know the weather is severely unpredictable. You can have all four seasons in one week, really! So this post is in anticipation of my fave season, Spring. I really have never done a pink lip, but I am quite surprised that this Wet N Wild 'Don't Blink Pink' complimented me so well.It can be so hard to find the right pink for brown skin, but I found a winner.Considering the lipstick was only $3 at my local CVS, it was really a no brainer.I was recently inspired by the Aquazurra 'pon pon' ankle tie sandals so I made my own #DIYD (do it ya damn self) version. I have a video coming soon , but I am still editing for now. They were really easy to make and inexpensive as well. These sandals are perfect for more many reasons, not only is 'pom pom' everything trending , but its a great way to revamp old worn old basic sandals. Mine were so beat down and worn I had pretty much given up on them. Because colors in both nature and fashion get more vibrant in Spring, these shoes and lipstick are perfect! My orange clutch from GoJane.com ($8) seemed to be the most fitting accessory as I gear up for brighter, warmer and longer days. I love a good statement clutch. A good one can be an eye grabber and a great conversation piece . I let all my accessories (shoes, bag and lips) do all the shining and let my outfit take a back seat. I kept my look simple and fun. My oversized fuzzy sweater (H&M, 12) was paired with one of my fave pair of jeans. The jeans are thrifted Levi's that I deconstructed myself. The style of the jeans are like mom jeans, but because I revamped them I consider them "step mom" jeans (insert roaring laughter here). |
