Good day all!! Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday! I am back at it with some of my favorite knitted looks.Knits (sweater-type material) are both on trend and perfect for this time of year, so I decided to showcase my knitted separates looks. My amazing red wrap- around sweater is a the perfect statement top,and can be matched with most of anything. For this post I styled it with a blue and red knit lace-up skirt. To give the sweater more room to 'pop' I also layered it over a white button down and added collar accessories for a funky street style vibe. The striped knit look may look like a dress but it is actually 2 pieces!! I snagged this from my fave site Shein.com for $5.00 using a $10 coupon I earned. It looks well but runs on the uncomfortable side as it runs small. I would have also liked the top to be a tad longer, but nevertheless I was cute (this is what actually wore on Thanksgiving).Per my new usual, blah blah blah, 'zazz' and I donned my grey socks once again.lol. Deets on the pumps will be up tomorrow so stay tuned. Wrap around sweater (sold out....Shein.com has similar styles for about $18) Navy and Red lace- up skirts (Romwe.com $9.99 a piece) Pearl Choker (Forever21, $5) Louis Vuitton Speedy Lace up Pumps-(Christian Louboutin) White Button Down (Abercrombie-old) "Granny" Purse (thrifted, $3) Neck Tie (Thrifted,$3) Collar Necklace (gift from Mommy) Straw Boater (H&M, $7) Dorsay Pumps ( Christian Louboutin) 2-piece Striped Knitwear set ( $5, had $10 off coupon...#winning) Socks (Walmart) Pom Pom Pumps (#DIYD..coming soon)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I am so thankful for yet another day and a chance to enjoy and treasure my loved ones. I also so thankful for my abundance of friends and supporters who encouraged me to actually start blogging. It has definitely been incredible so far! Hopefully, everyone is able to spend time with the ones they hold dear today. This year will be bittersweet because me and all my siblings (5 kids to be exact)will not be together. We are all spread throughout the U.S. and it's kinda breaking my heart, but I have my husband and daughter and wonderful in-laws to share my love with today. It is still early so I'm pretty sure most of you have not eaten yet. In case you are in need of out inspiration I have two layered looks that may suit your fancy. My first look is inspired by the 'home from college' kid who embracing their newfound sense of independence and new knowledge of 'self' while holding down that part-time job *insert college struggle. Depending on the weather, layers are most definitely needed. If its warm, you can pull off and if it's cold you can pile on. Fall always has exciting hues and textures so to incorporate my 'college girl' them I layered a striped button with my always appropriate WINE tee. I paired it with a brocade print khaki skirt. My burgundy flats proved to be the perfect shoe, but needed some 'zazz so I added my argyle socks. My Navy H&M short coat was ready to come out of the closet for its debut and I did not want to disappoint. My second layered looked is inspired by the "I just finished school and finally got a job in my degree so I am on the come-up". Now that you are grown and looking for a more sophisticated look, monochrome + layering is your new 'thing'. This jersey grey turtleneck and asymmetrical skirt are great if you are experiencing a warm Thanksgiving (like me),while the grey ankle bootie definitely seals the monochrome look. If you are experiencing cooler weather, adding a sleeveless vest will not only add dimension but warmth to your look. I decided to go with my olive khaki vest as it is a neutral as well, and the color just compliments the grey. My metallic Michael Kors in Pewter (or metallic grey) uplifts the muted tones and matte textures of the ensemble to give the 'grown, sexy, and financially stable' look.lol I forgot to mention how thankful I am for all those who frequent my blog and share my blog.It means so much to me that I am able to help people through style inspiration. So a Big Thanks to you all!!! I am back at it and I hope I lively up the dreary weather with this fun post! First off, can I say how much I loooove my new pink waterfall jacket! It's made perfect for those chilly fall days and its bright color is definitely stand out. I posted a pic of me wearing it on instagram it has been my most popular pic to date.I was very surprised considering all I had on was black jeans white tee and silver brogues. Nevertheless, I decided to remix my pink jacket in fun street style and somewhat corporate iterations. My first fun look is inspired by Drake's 'Hotline Bling' those pastels really got me inspired so I translated the color palette into my look. If you frequent my site, you will notice my penchant for hats.I aint got no type. lol. Any hat will do, but right now I'm into pom-pom hats. They are like so 'fetch' (Mean Girls Reference) lol. The pink one I made the pom-pom myself and the black one I also constructed from pieces I bought (I will post a tutorial this week for both hats). My second slaying is a twist on a corporate look that wasn't really inspired by much, it just happened and fairly well I might say.I hope you are inspired or at least enjoy my play on pink :) Pink waterfall jacket (Shein, $24) Moschino 'inspired' tee (Shein $15) Jeans (Current + Elliott) Sneakers (Top Shop , $20) Lucite Gas clutch (GoJane.com, $13) Pink hat (#DIYD) Fendi Karlito 'inspired' tee (Shein,$18) Tweed pant (Banana Republic) Pink and White striped heels (Shoedazzle, $14.95) Chain belt (Citi Trends....long ago $1...yea a buck!! lol) Black Pom pom hat (#DIYD) Sorry I'm late, I'm still basking in my Fashionbombdaily Bombshell feature! Claire said my looks were "amazing"...I just floated above my body for a minute.lol Anyway, back to the subject at hand today's mood is Fall print. Crisp leaves , orange and gold foliage , and cool mornings are things I love about this time of year. I also how you can begin to pile on the layers and mix bold colors with neutrals.By now most of you know I am a sucker for thrift and I love a good pattern too. I was browsing my fave thrift 'honey hole' and spotted this lovely quilted jacket. One tip I use when thrifting is checking labels.Don't search just for name brands ,but also for the quality of fabric and cleaning instructions. Even if you don't recognize a name , noticing things like "dry clean only" and '100% Silk' are usually good indicators of a nice piece. This jacket is 100% cotton and its midi length which is definitely in this season. The print initially gave me a granny-vibe, but for $5 I took it! My rule of thumb is if its $5 or less I usually get it, and then I will just come up with how to wear it later. I haven't posted any casual looks in a while so I paired my new thrift find with a grey V-neck and some boyfriend jeans. My leopard print flat from Zara added the perfect casual yet chic touch. I topped it off I went with my pom pom leather cap for a nice fall flair, and went with my new fave bag my speedy (p.s. I also got this vintage speedy at my fave thrift spot! yea! I know right!) Pom pom cap (#DIYD,do it ya damn self..deets coming soon) Printed Quilt jacket (Thrift, $5) V-neck (Forever21, $3.80) Boyfriend jeans (Zara, old) Leopard print flats (Zara, last season) Louis Vuitton Speedy Vintage (Thrift) |
