Into the forest and through the woods...sike! I really love nature, but I know snakes are still out so I can can't see the forest floor I'm good , b. Nature is really my favorite backdrop to shot with. Drapped in Olive Khaki and gold it was also no better color scheme. Unleashing my inner nature goddess , I floated about the forest in this slinky kimono dress. Made of cotton, this dress can serve a multitude of purposes from casual day, beach cover up, or even a date night -- with a switch of accessories. Shop the dress for $40 at Incantare boutique here.Adorned in gold accessories from head to toe, which seemed the only way to go.My headpiece really gave the ultimate goddess factor. For $15 you can get yours here from Coastal Couture Boutique. My earrings were $3.80 on Romwe.com and are so lightweight.I'm still wearing the gold cuff I stole from my mom that one time (Thanks, mom) and added my plated belt from Gojane as a belted option. I prefer without the belt for more arm mobility. My gold lace up sandals are from Shoedazzle. I caught them on a really good sale last year. When I shot this look , it immediately started to thunder. I had literally 7 minutes to shoot. I was actually praying for delayed rain as you can see in the pics. You know 4c hair does NOT hold up good in the rain and the way my weave is set up.....you know the rest.

I do not smile a lot on the blog, but that is only because my smile is extra gummy and my Face looks like a full- fledged circle. Suprising factoid : I'm certified hilarious in real life. It's true! I was crowned best sense of humor in 12th grade.I was also nominated for most original as well, but I can't win 'em all (Haters gon' hate).I'd like to say my colorful and fun personality spills over into my style. The older I have gotten, the more introverted I have become. I'm still hilarious no doubt, but I not as forthcoming with the hilarity as I used to be. To make up for decrease in social skills, I have become obsessed with fun ,statement pieces. Not only because I love to make a statement , but it's a great conversation starter. Now that I get invited to events, which excites because I get to dress up but also fills with anxiety because I have to talk to new people, I have to get better socially. I feel weird approaching people, so when they come over to ask about my accessories I know I've reeled them in (got eeeeem!).Once I get to talking I don't stop, the starting is the just the hard part.Enough of the perks of being a wallflower dribble let's get into the deets shall we? My tube bodycon midi dress is from www.incantareboutique.com. It's perfect for curves or non-curves. I added a belt to emphasize my waist and give the illusion of being more shapely. Hopefully it worked *crosses fingers. I threw on my polka dot scarf(thrift) with some hoops with my signature red lip. For a retro feel, I grabbed my cat eye sunnies from Aliexpress.I stole the belt from my sateen duster and wore it as a neck scarf, because I do what I want. My box bag is a fun little bag you can shop here at Romwe.com. It's so sturdy, but probably because it doesn't hold much. The shoes. The shoes.The.Shoes.Therealreal.com has slayed me again!! These Minion pumps were a limited release from the London based shoes designer Rupert Sanderson. Orginally retailing for $825 I was blessed to snag them for less that $150! So there you have it! I'm hilarious, awkward in social situations and like to reflect both in my clothing choices. What about you? Comment below on your approach to style I was jamming to some throwback music on Spotify the other day and immediately placed myself as the lead hottie in an 90's R&B music video (Am I the only one who does this? surely not.).Red lips poppin', long side bangs and top bun combo , and the sexy long glare that the video vixens give when they walk out on lead singer of the group for another guy (Insert fave 90's R&B group here) were the only things I needed to pull off this look--well that and this sexy black dress.Accented with lace-up details down the side and the bust, this "All Tied Up" midi bodycon dress is sure to stun.Purchase this dress from Incantare Boutique here . Primarily made from spandex, this dress fits and hugs at the right places. Headed out with the girls, or with bae? Take this dress out for a spin and watch the heads turn! My gold strappy heels are currently sold out.I grabbed them last year from Shoedazzle for $7.50! If you are looking for a great pair of heeled strappy sandals that will set your look off, check out Ego Official. They are a UK shoe brand that specialize in the hottiest, trendiest, footware apparel.Currently, Everything is 20% off (Until 8/30) using code TREATS shop here. Summer is winding down and I am having mixed feelings. I wasn't ready for it to come, but sad to see it go. So I am dedicating this look to the memories I should have created .Here lies my summer hopes and dreams compiled in a happy, super cute look. My Chiffon yellow dress represents the sun, of which I should have enjoyed more. Summer sun , I am sorry I wasted the extra light you gave me lol. This belted bell sleeved dress is the perfect length to go from office to weekend in just a switch of footwear.Check out this fun little yellow number here.My rainbow colored strappy sandals are reminiscent of the sunnies skies after those summer rains. My chunky heeled fun strappy sandals are now sold on (Romwe.com, boo!).The original design is that of Chloe. If you are in need of a good summer splurge catch them on sale here at Nordstrom . So about my hair..... purchase from www.glamourhouseofhair.com or the direct link to the Russian Radiance here. I have had this hair since April 2014.I ordered two bundles in 24 inches, and made a up part wig. When I tell you is the best hair I have ever had, it is no lie! It's perfect for blending with natural hair.So many times we find our sisters repping our beautiful motherland hair trying to blend it with Brazilian.I'm all for intermingling , but as a woman with 4c type hair, there is just no blending with "Brazilian" especially in this summer heat.Save your hair the trouble and opt for a more natural texture. You hair will thank you later! I also professionally colored this hair with no problems and experience only minimal shedding. At about $120-$160 a bundle, it is definitely worth the investment! It's not Labor Day yet so I'm still feel 'Godly' .I am really loving white this year! You can really never go wrong with it no matter the silhouette. Incantare Boutique is your one stop shop for all thing white, sexy, and sultry. Snag this one-shpulder piece Goddess dress for under $50 here at www.incantareboutique.com and search 'Goddess'.The dress boasts a gold zipper on the shoulder and the sleeve has a nice long split you keep those arms cool in this white hot look. The dress made such a statement, I did not have to do too much to accessorize.Gold was my go-to accessory color. My strappy open toe sandals were a bargain at $14 (old, Shoedazzle).I also grabbed my gold cuff (Stolen from mom), my Mirina Collections statement necklace , and my earrings from Romwe ($4).I wanted my makeup to look extra snazzy so I contoured for my life and covered almost my whole face in my Kaepop Highlighter from Colourpop ($6).My lipstick is Coloured Raine , Cherry Blossom, of course. As soon as I get my video editing right I will do a make up tutorial, I promise! Hope you enjoy the post! With all the great Olympic feats made this year at the 2016 Olympics held in Rio I am feeling a bit more patriotic. Simone Biles has slaaaaaaayed everybody! I am partial to gymnastics because I am short and well I always wanted to be a gymnast. Being raised with 4 other siblings, my best bet was P.E. class or jumping on a friend's trampoline;but enough about my shortcomings! My look today is true to the red, white and blue! I am desperately in need of more bandeau tops, because I have run this one from Forever 21 ($3.80) into the ground .This cute knit navy dress is perfect to petite frames as it hugs just right. It was also a steal for only $11! Shop this cute dress here. The bag is one of my fave thrifted finds that I spruced up with some pom poms. The scarf is another thrift find , and a good one at that for $.50.I loved putting this look together, but it was really about the shoes! These are the best dupes I have ever seen! Inspired my Stella McCartney's uber trendy must have 'Elyse' flatform oxfords that range from about $1,000 and up.I copped mine for a cool $35 , so I got them in the brown and black here .If you decide to get them, make sure to fill up your cart and use the code LOVING70 to get %70 off your purchase. In the words of Drizzy Drake, thank me later! It's a new week , and I have a new look ! I have put my wigs on hiatus status for a while so I can embrace my 4c kinks. I'm not sure how long this will last as I may begin to itch for a new do. My two way crochet look was such a hit that I am back at it with another fun 2 for 1. My rose embroidered dress was a steal for only $20 in comparison to Zara selling the same one for about $69.99.I don't mind spending $69.99 on a piece that I will wear often, but this is piece didn't warrant paying that for me. Romwe.com , is one of my fave spots to shop great trends for less, and is where is also got this amazing deal. Shop the dress here https://www.romwe.com/Blue-Off-The-Shoulder-Stripe-Embroidery-Dress-p-176391-cat-727.html. For my first styling I wore it simply as dress. As this dress is a bit on the thin side I would not suggest wearing it this way if you don't have a body shaping or slip-type garment. As the dress teeters on the short side I paired with a chunk heeled sandal. The rhinestone embellished sandals are super comfy and were only $22! Shop here http://www.romwe.com/Grey-Peep-Toe-Rhinestone-Buckle-Strap-Chunky-Sandals-p-179292-cat-715.html . Look number two is definitely a more casual but fun look as I incorporate graffiti denim and printed pumps.I wore the dress as a tunic and paired some fun jeans (shop here http://www.romwe.com/Blue-Print-Button-Ripped-Jeans-p-173008-cat-681.html ).I have the jeans in a size medium (5'2'' , 115 lbs), so that will give you a size reference .As a member of the below 5'5'' club , I am always trying to elongate my legs. The cut of length of the pants paired with a d'orsay like my pink striped pumps really give the illusion that I am a bit taller, which I love! Check out the pics below for accessory details! Thanks for stopping by! Today is Jamaican Independence day !!!Big ups to the homeland of mi fadda! (to those who don't understand Patois , that's my dad!) In honor of my paternal heritage , I'm going full on Island gyal today!! My dad is more on the religious side so I didn't grow up listening to Reggae , Dancehall, and drinking Rum (its a joke btw...these are just stereotypes).I grew up in church living a very sheltered life. I never knew much of my Jamaican heritage or family until we visited Jamaica the summer before I went to 11th grade. I didn't know what to expect, but I was excited. The resorts and coconut sipping images drenched in your mind can be thrown out right now. I experienced the real Jamaica , the rural , the local Jamaica. It was enchanting! Me and my brothers walked country dirt roads , the perfume of ripened Mangoes filled the air from local Mango trees hanging over the streets. The first day we got there and were just chilling in my dad's old country neighborhood, a guy stopped me and my brother and said "Are you Brackett's?!" (that's my dad's last name-my maiden name) we had just stumbled upon on of my dad's brothers. He knew we were related because of our big eyes , he said. For two weeks we travelled all over from Negril, Sav-la Mar, Montego Bay, Kingston and a few other places visiting family I had never seen as well as my full of church (we never got a vacation from that.lol).To sum up that trip, I learned firsthand about my Jamaican culture and learn to embrace the simplicities of life. That trip really changed me. I came home culturally awakened and filled with so much pride. Seeing my island brethren take nothing and make it into something in so many facets of life really got me inspired. So today, I pay homage to the colorful , creative, strong willed dutty whining culture of my Jamaican people.Side note: I will be going to crop over and I will be fully decked out with my glorious cheeks clapping on somebody's float one day!
