So I am back!! Morning sickness and 24 sleepy feeling be gone! I missed you all so much.I have literally been up to nothing other than harboring a little human who has been zapping all my energy and food.I was so pitiful yall. All I did everyday was gag and then go home and sleep for 12 hrs.I had new clothes and I didn’t even feel like trying them on.That is sooooo not me! The lethargy also had me doubting myself like “what if I forget how to put clothes together?” or “what if I just lose my mojo?”.This preganancy has been playing tricks on me. I am officially heading into my 2nd trimester and am ready to get back to the slay. Did you guys miss me?

Have you ever planned on doing something special, but on a whim you slipped up and did something else? Well that is my life. That is how I live.Slipping up is my method.Speaking of slipping up I got caught on the internet at work yesterday by the "boss" boss.I could have shit a whhhhoooolllle brick.
"I'm every woman.
It's all in me. Anything you want done baby, I'll do it naturalllllyy!" -Whitney Houston If you didn't know this song was originally sung by Chaka Khan. However you may have noticed, Whit (God rest her soul), shouts her out and during the "im every woman" run at the end. This is what sisterhood and support in the music industry looks like! Queens recognize queens and uplift them regardless of the arena. Should I proceed to discuss the Remy Ma and Nicki situation? Not really, no. That is what you call a battle of the words by two lyricists. What I should bring up is the fact that Nicki Minaj came on the scene drenched in Lil Kim in almost everyway *sips tea and looks into the Hip Hop Hooray distance.I won't bring that up either, but my point is that we as women should always keep each other lifted up and revere each other. Who likes Twizzlers? Anybody? Well I sure don't.They are gross--bland even.I will have no parts of that.So why did I name this post Liquorice then? Well, because the dress looks like Twizzler.Doesn't it? Please say it does...
Saturday is upon us and I am serving Fur real today!!! I'm not really one for animal fur; a faux is just fine for me. The coat I am wearing is the exception , only because it was pretty much a steal. So yeah, I have pretty much been thrifting my whole life. On a Saturday morning thrifting trip with my mom, about 10 years ago, we came across a yard sale at a church. I saw this coat and was in looooove!! The price? $5!!! It's safe to say all I could hear in the background was Patti LaBelle's "When you've been blessed" lol. This fur is 100% rabbit and after 10 years of hanging in the closet , I am finally ready to slay in it. It does shed a little bit, but the $5 price tag leaves me with no regrets. Not only is it super warm, but it has a waist cincher made into to coat. It also has a collar on it; I just decided to fold it in for this look. I saw so many great pics from New York Fashion Week, but I'm stuck here in NC just wishing. This look is what I would wear if I had been in New York this week. Street style is what I live for! So vibrant, unexpected and very non-traditional all the things I love in a good ensemble. I feel my look definitely embodies all of that. From the nineties-inspired color palette and patent leather boots (PublicDesire.com, $52) to the colorful fur scarf (asos.com, $20).My green neoprene sweatshirt I got last year on Romwe.com for $20.The barely there shorts I have on are from Forever21 ($4) they have fringes on them , but I ripped them off. Mini bags, especially the structured ones have been spied on all the fashionistas including Jamie Chung , Rihanna, and editor -in -chic Anna Dello Russo. While my black mini resembles a baby Birkin, it is far from it. This leather love was thrifted for only $5.I am such a big proponent for accessories that I made sure to wear my striped gloves to ensure a standout statement look. When you have a look that is bound to turn heads, its best to keep the face beat simple. Happy Humpday Everyone!! I hope you enjoy my pink print on print corporate casual look! And if you get the reference in today's post title, well then "you go Glen Coco!" Pink Boyfriend Blazer (Forever21(thrifted),$8) Moschino Inspired Tee (Shein.com,$15) Periwinkle blue and white striped dress-folded down and worn as skirt ( Forever 21, $24.00) Pink and white striped satin sling-back pumps (Shoedazzle,$14.95...on sale!) |
