It's Aprill, truly the most wonderful time of the years ('cept the pollen). The ground has softened, the birds are singing, my birthday is around the corner (April 15th gifts are being readily accepted lol), and of course people are procreating. Those cold winters really help with that though . Spring is truly the birthing and rebirthing season. All that was dead has began to revive and new life springs forth. Before I continue, let me just say I AM NOT PREGNANT! I figured many would think that because of all this birthing talk, so yea --not with child.I was born in the Spring and I do know quite a few who are expecting ; I could not be happier! Pink and blue are the perfect spring combo as well as a great way to keep and gender reveal underwraps in a fun and fashionable way! Unless there is a specific dress code, I would also say its appropriate to wear as a guest to a baby shower. The ruffle and pleat details of today's look gives such a feeling of light and airy which definitely coordinates with the celebration of soon to arrive bundle of joy. Because you never know with a Spring day, I opted for a one shoulder blouse and and a short skirt. The combo balances out in my opinion. You don't want to be too hot or too cold.My cap toes pumps are sold out from Zara, but Asos has a similar leather pair on sale for $48 shop them here. Johanna Ortiz is the designer behind the one shoulder ruffle top craze. It is such a beautiful statement piece in blue and white stripes (spring's neutral). If you are laced in loot you can purchase her original top here for $795 ('girl bye!', says my account). My top is from Shein but I went for the $15 cheap one and the quality is pretty $15 worth...not really that great. If you still want it, you can shop it here. Get your pleated skirt fix by shopping these skirts below starting at $15! Shop by clicking the pic! So guys you know how I love to talk about the bloggers that inpire my looks, but today I am inspired by a close friend. Well, she is more like family and have been rocking for over 10 years. We first met in Algebra 2.She was so good at math, unlike me.I was terrible in Math. This is when I first began to admire her for her intelligence in 10th grade. By 12th grade we were full blown homies and she introduced me to my 1st love, Jose (Cuervo). We had Discrete Math(literally the easiest Math known to man!) and AP English together and we spent time together not doing work we should have been doing. She was always so effortlessly cool to me. She used to wear this cool Adidas track jacket and I was always like "gaaahhhhh , she is such a cool kid!" I don't know if I ever told her that. Anyway, she was just an artistic dope and beautiful human being and we spent a lot of the summer after Senior year making super smart jokes only we understood and being the coolest kids in our hometown. We even ended up going to college together. Because I b.s.'d on my housing we did not end up as roommates 1st semester, but luck was on our side and by second semester we were roomies and watching the Backyardigans and eating pop tarts from the vending machine as any respectable college freshman would do. You may think I have style, but trust my friend was chic before chic was like a thing .I remember I was going to go hang with some guy on campus and she dolled me up. She did my eye makeup, lent me her pearl necklace, and even introduced me to lipstick. She always made the most simple pieces so elegant.I wonder if she still has those tan pointy toe almost kitten heel pumps. They were everything on her.She also had this little white fur coat *sighs lovingly in fashion and would wear it when we went out. I managed to pull of a D+ grade average and still have time for a semi-glam social life. She introduced to the latin dancing and then joined the Latin Dance team.To this day I still have the moves and hubs gets so mad cuz he doesn't. Through the years ,after I kinda bowed out(expelled academically) from NC State (Go Pack!) we never lost touch. She came to my wedding, my baby shower and I even gave her middle name to my daughter.I wanted to always have a way to have her in my life even if we ever lost touch.Oh man, I am almost bawling typing that.I can barely see the keyboard right now I am crying so hard! Good thing I got these homerows keys down (ASDF JKL;)! I didn't even realize that I didn't tell her until her wedding day, we of course cried liked babies...really cute ones. Ana, I love you so much and (here come the tears again!) am go excited you and Dan are having your first child together.I know how great of a mom will be because you are such a great friend and auntie to Serg and Camilla.I just love your whole family! Your parents and sister and bro always made me feel right at home.Even though my Spanish is lacking, I will always understand the language of food.Your mom makes the best Tamales! I dreamed about them a few weeks ago lol.I am saying all these things about you to say *sings very 1980's sitcom intro-y '..and if you threw and party and invited everyone you knew, you would see the biggest gift would be from the me and the card attached would say THANK YOU FOR BEING A FRRRIIIEEEEEENNNNNNNDDDD!!!" This is my bomb friend Ana guys! She is so fab, okay?! I really know the coolest people. That's really what made me cool, they rubbed off on me.
P.S. I still have you wedding announcement on my work desk and your engagement announcement on my fridge.Nay Nay asked about you yesterday.I'm pretty sure she was wondering where Dan was, too lol.Don't worry though next month when I see you at Jessie's I will drink for both of us! lol
