'Hey sister , go sister, soul sister, go sister...' If you are thinking "oh yea I loved when Kim,Pink, Mya , and Christina sang this sang then you may want to log off this post.No shade to the girls, but the original was always it for me. Patti Labelle and the Labelles are the original singers of the risqué and funky 'Lady Marmalade'. If you only know Patti from her pies, then you should log off too. She is a legend outside of the pastry arena...like, I don't even have time to explain. Let's just say she is probably your fave's fave's fave.I am a sucker for French, so if you never knew what they were saying in the line "Voulez-vous coucher avec moi ce soir?" it is translated as 'would you lay down with me tonight?'.Scandalous girl! In honor of the true funk queens, I present today's look. The funk is what inspired this look .If you don't know what funk is, you should know what to do (log the hell off, that's what lol...well better yet, just stay and learn a few things). Bold hardware, metallics, vibrant hues and patterns, dark lips, feathers, furs, are all components need to achieve a funky look. However, I must say first and foremost, you must have the funk within.Combine both the inner and outer funks and you are done! Simple as that. Shop each piece by clicking the photo Twice every year I lose my ever-loving mind.Zara's semi-annual sale is the culprit.I spend each day scrolling all the items on my wish list and waiting for the price to drop to match the way my account is set up.I just missed a pair of plaid pants by a day or so...ugh *cries in clearance. My gaudy gold pants and velvet stunner boots are both fruits of my Zara clearance labor. The pairing seemed very posh so I threw on an orange sweatshirt and gold chain to funk it up.As it was a blistering 20 degrees when I shot this look, (shutup, 20 degrees is blistering weather in the South) I grabbed my oversized wool coat (thrifted) and my faux fur stole. The look would not be complete without accessories so I grabbed my gold cuff , sparkly ear cuff, and yellow tinted sunnies for that EXTRA effect.I am saving the best piece for last. It's the whoooooole reason for this look and this post! It's the clutch bih! The CLUTCH!! Handmade by Rachel Stewart , this bag is a piece of art and black girl magic combined! I had been stalking her site for the perfect (and free shipping code, okay!) and came across the 'Lady Marmalade'.It's a the perfect pop and it the focal point of the whooooole look.Let's just say I am obsessed.I had been trying on clothes for days trying to create a look worthy of this purse.Did I succeed? Rachel Stewart, the designer of this bag, was also mentioned in my Buying Black post.
