Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! I am so thankful for yet another day and a chance to enjoy and treasure my loved ones. I also so thankful for my abundance of friends and supporters who encouraged me to actually start blogging. It has definitely been incredible so far! Hopefully, everyone is able to spend time with the ones they hold dear today. This year will be bittersweet because me and all my siblings (5 kids to be exact)will not be together. We are all spread throughout the U.S. and it's kinda breaking my heart, but I have my husband and daughter and wonderful in-laws to share my love with today. It is still early so I'm pretty sure most of you have not eaten yet. In case you are in need of out inspiration I have two layered looks that may suit your fancy. My first look is inspired by the 'home from college' kid who embracing their newfound sense of independence and new knowledge of 'self' while holding down that part-time job *insert college struggle. Depending on the weather, layers are most definitely needed. If its warm, you can pull off and if it's cold you can pile on. Fall always has exciting hues and textures so to incorporate my 'college girl' them I layered a striped button with my always appropriate WINE tee. I paired it with a brocade print khaki skirt. My burgundy flats proved to be the perfect shoe, but needed some 'zazz so I added my argyle socks. My Navy H&M short coat was ready to come out of the closet for its debut and I did not want to disappoint. My second layered looked is inspired by the "I just finished school and finally got a job in my degree so I am on the come-up". Now that you are grown and looking for a more sophisticated look, monochrome + layering is your new 'thing'. This jersey grey turtleneck and asymmetrical skirt are great if you are experiencing a warm Thanksgiving (like me),while the grey ankle bootie definitely seals the monochrome look. If you are experiencing cooler weather, adding a sleeveless vest will not only add dimension but warmth to your look. I decided to go with my olive khaki vest as it is a neutral as well, and the color just compliments the grey. My metallic Michael Kors in Pewter (or metallic grey) uplifts the muted tones and matte textures of the ensemble to give the 'grown, sexy, and financially stable' look.lol I forgot to mention how thankful I am for all those who frequent my blog and share my blog.It means so much to me that I am able to help people through style inspiration. So a Big Thanks to you all!!! Navy Coat (H&M, $20...may still be available online) Striped button-down (thrifted) Wine tee (#DIYD) Brocade Skirt (Forever 21. old) Socks (Walmart, $3) Faux croc bag (thrift) Burgundy Flats ( Thrift)...Zara.com has some similar currently Grey turtleneck (Old) Asymmetrical Skirt ( Zara, $12)...can find similar skirts on GoJane.com Waterfall Sleeveless coat (Prettylittlthings.com...sold out) Missguided.com has it currently on sale Grey boots (Zara, last season) Bag (Micheal Kors)
